White House national security official on leave amid security probe

In the United States, Andrew Peek, the senior director for European and Russian Affairs at the National Security Council, was suspended. The official and his entourage do not tell the reason for this decision.

Andrew Peek, the senior director for European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council, has been placed on administrative leave pending a security-related investigation, as Bloomberg reports.

Peek accompanied Trump to the World Economic Forum in Davos from January 21 to 24.

He had only worked at his NSC position for several months. Peek formerly worked at the State Department as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iraq and Iran.
