With 97% of Iowa results reported, Pete Buttigieg holds an extremely narrow delegate lead over Bernie Sanders. Former mayor of South Bend has 26.2% of State Delegate Equivalents, with Sanders, having 26.1%, closely behind.
Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden trail the state’s frontrunners with 18.2% and 16.8% respectively. Amy Klobuchar, in turn, is fifth with 12.2%.
Due to technical issues with an app used to report precinct results, Iowa has been struggling to announce the winner since February 3. The Democratic Party, however, made a point to stress that the results are completely accurate and there were no signs of hacking.
