The United Kingdom has made a scandalous decision on sanctions against Russia

The United Kingdom is going to lift sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia. With this, the UK is going to remove restrictions on imports of foil, pipes, and ferrosilicon from the Russian Federation.

Expectedly, the sanctions will be lifted after the transition period of withdrawal from the European Union.

The decision was published on the government's official website on February 6.

Consequently, anti-dumping duties will be removed from the following Russian goods:

  • aluminum foil;
  • ferrosilicon (silicon-iron alloy);
  • seamless metal and cast iron pipes;
  • pipe fittings in steel or cast iron;
  • urea-ammonium mixture.

Nevertheless, the UK will leave in force the duties on imports of the following goods from Russia:

  • ammonium nitrate;
  • cold-rolled flat-rolled products;
  • electrotechnical steel;
  • hot-rolled flat-rolled products.

The United Kingdom withdrew from the European Union on February 1 but will continue to abide by its laws at least until the end of the year.

As Apostrophe reported earlier, the ambassadors of the European Union agreed on expanding sanctions against Russia imposed over the annexation of Crimea.
