Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky appoints Andriy Yermak the new chief of staff

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed the chief of his administration, Andriy Bohdan, replacing him with an aide Andriy Yermak.

Ukrainian media have long reported a boiling political rivalry between Bohdan and Yermak.

Yermak's name, in turn, has been widely associated with Ukraine's backdoor foreign policy, including meetings with Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Yermak met with Giuliani in August 2019, and, according to the impeachment inquiry evidence and testimonies, was the main unofficial contact point on President Zelensky's behalf.

Two presidential decrees - dismissing Bohdan as Presidential Office's Head and appointing Yermak in his stead - were signed on Tuesday and posted on the president's website.
