According to Drudge Report’s sources, billionaire presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg is considering Hillary Clinton as a running mate. Bloomberg has reportedly conducted internal polling, which illustrated that the duo “would be a formidable force to take on Trump in the race for the White House”.
Drudge has also reported that Bloomberg was considering changing his official state of residence to one of his homes in Colorado or Florida "since the electoral college makes it hard for a POTUS and VPOTUS from the same state."
As Fox News informed, an unidentified source close to Hillary Clinton shared that former First Lady and Secretary of State "wants back in" after her electoral college loss in 2016.
In her interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which took place after Donald Trump’s Senate acquittal, Clinton did not fully rule out a possibility of becoming someone’s running mate – even though saying it’s unlikely.
When asked about it, Mrs. Clinton told a story about rejecting Barack Obama’s unexpected offer to become the Secretary of State twice – clearly, before accepting it.
"I never say never because I believe in serving my country, but it's not going to happen,” she concluded.
A spokesperson for Michael Bloomberg neither denied nor confirmed the rumors. "We are focused on the primary and the debate, not VP speculation," his communication director Jason Schechter said in a statement.
With the billionaire’s unorthodox approach to campaigning – skipping the first four states and pouring all the effort into Super Tuesday and on – a rather surprising tandem with Clinton could serve as a bombshell to either give Bloomberg a much-needed boost or, on the contrary, become a toxic pull downward.
