Signal for the Russian Federation: Zelensky had a conversation with NATO Secretary General

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to express his serious concern regarding the Russian military activity on the Ukrainian-Russian border.

NATO Secretary-General published the corresponding statement on Twitter.

I called President @ZelenskyyUa to express serious concern about Russia’s military activities in and around Ukraine & ongoing ceasefire violations. #NATO firmly supports #Ukraine’s sovereignty & territorial integrity. We remain committed to our close partnership," Stoltenberg tweeted. In turn, Vladimir Zelensky thanked NATO Secretary-General for the Alliance's attention to the security situation around Ukraine and called on NATO member countries to pay more attention to security issues in the Black Sea region and to strengthen their military presence there.

According to Vladimir Zelensky’s statement, it was noted that in relations with NATO, the most pressing issue for Ukraine is the possibility of obtaining an Action Plan for membership in the Alliance.

@jensstoltenberg, we are committed to reforming our army and defense sector, but reforms alone will not stop Russia. @NATO is the only way to end the war in #Donbas. Ukraine's MAP will be a real signal for #Russia,” Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted.

As was earlier reported by Apostrophe, the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov said that the increase of the Russian military presence on the border with Ukraine should not cause any concerns to other countries, as Russia allegedly does not pose a threat to other states.
