Russian President Vladimir Putin is concerned about Ukraine’sparticipation in large-scale military exercises - Sea Breeze in the Black Sea. The President of the Russian Federation stressed that according to the Ukrainian Constitution there can be no foreign military bases in this country, TASS reports.
"I am concerned about another thing, a more fundamental one, namely about the beginning of the military development within the Ukrainian territory," Putin said during the annual direct line with his citizens.
He stressed that according to the Ukrainian Constitution there can be no foreign military bases in Ukraine.
The Head of the Russian Federation noted that according to the general law of Ukraine it is possible to create training centers or use some other forms of cooperation in the military sphere.
"But the military development within the territory directly bordering us impose significant security threats for us. This applies to the real national interests of the Russian Federation as well as the people of Russia," Putin stressed. "This is a cause for concern and we should think about it," he concluded, stressing that it is not about attempts to "get" closer to Russia.
According to Putin, Western countries "turned up at Russian borders" after the Russian Federation allegedly reduced the number of military personnel on the border with Ukraine”.
