The Kremlin commented on the threat of the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine. According to Russia, Ukrainian statehood might be sacrificed in case of settling the Donbas conflict using military capabilities.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov on Russia 1 TV channel.
"Of course," he said, commenting on the words that a peaceful (non-military) resolution of the conflict in Donbas is the main condition for Russia. However, according to him, the military way of resolving this conflict will put Ukrainian statehood itself under question.
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has also stressed that it is already known both in Ukraine and in the United States.
"This is what President Putin has repeatedly said, and this is what is well known in Kyiv, this is what is well known in Washington. But you see, for some reason, no one wants to put Kyiv in place" Peskov said.
