"A friendly, frank meeting in the US Senate, which is an important confirmation of support for Ukraine in the fight for independence, freedom and democracy," - wrote Zelensky.

He told senators about the current security and economic situation in Ukraine, the importance of maintaining the vital US aid and answered questions.

"I thank the leader of the Democratic Party in the Senate Chuck Schumer and the leader of the Republican Party in the Senate Mitch McConnell for the consolidation of bipartisan support for our state and people," - the President noted.

The media reports that today the US may provide Ukraine with 200 million dollars aid.

It is also reported that US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said that the Senate may allocate aid to Ukraine and resolve the contentious issue of border security in the United States before Christmas. This is possible if Congress postpones the winter "break", which is three days away, to continue working on the agreement.
