The U.S. Senate adopted defense bill for record US $886 billion. It includes $300 million in aid for Ukraine.
This is reported by The Hill.
The document was approved by 87 lawmakers, 13 votes were against. Now the House has to approve the bill. Voting may take place this week, then President Joe Biden must sign the document.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (Democrat from New York) before the vote urged senators to pass the bill, as the U.S. faces problems around the world.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Republican from Kentucky) also supported the NDAA for strengthening national security.
