Will there be a new world war? The US assessed the risks in case of termination of assistance to Ukraine

Experts believe that the US refusal to provide assistance to Ukraine could lead to a new world war in the near future.

In a tense situation reminiscent of the pre-war period of the 1930s, Bloomberg analyzed the current situation and warned of potentially catastrophic consequences if the United States refuses to support Ukraine.

Reasons for a possible world war

The journalists of the publication note that Russian aggression in Ukraine and the conflict in Israel, which is supported by Iran, are threatening signs of an approaching world war. In their opinion, these events could be a prelude to a large-scale clash between world powers.

However, the authors emphasize that it is still possible to prevent a global conflict, but it requires immediate decisive action.

An informal bloc of opponents of the United States

The article highlights the creation of an informal bloc between Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. These countries mutually support each other with resources and weapons, seeking to expand their sphere of influence.

If they succeed in overloading the international security system by provoking numerous local conflicts, the United States will be forced to disperse its forces, making it unable to respond effectively to all threats.

Lessons from the past

As noted in the article, the provision of military assistance to Great Britain at the beginning of World War II allowed the United States to significantly increase its own production capacity even before officially entering the war. This prudence allowed the country to prepare for the inevitable conflict. On the other hand, the isolation of America, if it is caught off guard in the event of a global war, will bring the war itself closer, making it more likely.

Refusal to participate in international conflict resolution and its dangers

Some politicians argue that financial assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan is too expensive and threatens the country's national interests. In light of the current events, experts remind us of the historical experience of World War II and its consequences.

The journalists urge US citizens to realize that it is much more profitable to maintain a favorable world order than to restore a destroyed one.

"Assistance to Ukraine - equivalent to about 5% of the US defense budget - may seem expensive. But would it be cheaper to see Ukraine fail and then face a vengeful, mobilized Russia in NATO's east? The investments in military capabilities and coalition building required to maintain the status quo are significant in Asia. But would it be easier to restrain China once it seizes Taiwan and casts its considerable shadow over the Western Pacific?" - the authors of the publication summarized.

As a reminder, the NATO Secretary General commented on sending troops to Ukraine.
