Ukraine has every chance of winning the war with Russia if its Western allies provide Kyiv with everything it needs, including weapons and ammunition.
This was stated by US Air Force General and Supreme Allied Commander Europe (2013-2016) Philip Breedlove in an interview with Wiadomosci.
According to him, Ukraine will win when one condition will be fulfilled - an opportunity to "strike at Russia with all its military power".
"If Ukraine falls, Putin will feel more confident - this is obvious. Moscow is already interfering in the affairs of other countries. I can only name two - Georgia and Moldova. We are already seeing some forms of hybrid activities or activities in the "gray zone"," the General said. He noted that it is now important that the democratic countries of the Western world stop Putin at this stage.
"We are not talking about World War III. Great thinkers have said that the best way to avoid war is to be prepared for it. And that is what NATO is doing. The Alliance is committed to deterring Russia from further immoral and illegal actions in Europe and to being ready if Russia starts such actions again. Therefore, it is important that the Alliance continues to train and be ready to avoid a future war," Breedlove emphasized.
He added that Ukraine needs certain types of missiles, whether for F-16s or ATACMS systems.
"This war will end exactly as Western politicians decide. If we give Ukraine what it needs to win, it will win. Strategically, the Ukrainians have defeated Russia north of Kyiv and northwest of Kharkiv. They have also retaken most of the territory in the south. If the West doesn't give Ukraine what it needs to win, Kyiv will be forced to make a peace that gives up more land at the expense of more soldiers and civilian casualties," Breedlove said.
Earlier, the NATO Secretary General made an important statement about F-16s for Ukraine.
