Belgium to hand over 30 F-16 fighters to Ukraine: the announced deadlines were surprising

Belgium plans to supply Ukraine with 30 of its F-16 fighter jets by 2028. The first aircraft should be delivered by the end of the year.

This was stated by Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib.

At the same time, the first aircraft should be delivered by the end of the year.

According to the Minister, this commitment will be formalized in a security guarantee agreement, which is scheduled to be signed on May 28 in Brussels during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Belgium will also provide ammunition from its stockpile to equip the F-16.

According to the Minister, this support is necessary to stop Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who has decided to 'push back the borders of European countries.'

"Could Russian tanks one day invade Brussels? If we allow it, this is not an impossible scenario," she said.

Earlier, we reported that the first group of Ukrainian pilots graduated from F-16 training in the United States.
