Heading to Europe: first group of Ukrainian pilots graduated from F-16 training in the United States

The first batch of Ukrainian pilots has completed their training on F-16 aircraft and are now heading to Europe for additional training.

This was informed by Politico.

The report notes that the first group of Ukrainian pilots has completed training on F-16 aircraft at a military base in Arizona. Air National Guard Spokesperson Erin Hannigan told Politico:

"The first batch of Ukrainian pilots have graduated from F-16 training at an Arizona military base, a crucial step toward putting modern, American-made fighter jets in Ukraine’s skies."

It is also noted that Ukrainian specialists were trained at the 162nd National Guard Air Force Base in Tucson. Air National Guard Spokesperson Hannigan did not confirm the exact number of those who have already graduated and the exact date of graduation, citing security requirements.

According to Politico, citing a person with knowledge of the matter, the Ukrainian pilots have now traveled to Europe to receive additional training.

The publication also pointed out that Ukraine is to receive more than 60 F-16 fighter jets in total, provided by Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
