Italy will provide Ukraine with another SAMP/T air defense system as part of its military package.
This information was confirmed by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Rai Radio1.
It is noted that the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tajani confirmed the information that Italy is preparing another package of military aid for Ukraine. And despite the fact that the content of this defense package, as always, will remain confidential, it has become known that it should include another SAMP/T air defense system. Here is what the Italian Foreign Minister himself said about this:
"it is known that we will send SAMP-T, which is an air defense system, that is, the protection that Ukraine has asked us for, it is not a secret."
At the same time, he added that Italy is not going to send its troops to Ukraine at the moment. In addition, he pointed out that the Italian weapons that have been transferred to Ukraine cannot be used for potential attacks on Russian territory.
It is worth recalling that earlier we also reported on the transfer of the first SAMP/T air defense system from Italy. At the time, we noted that Italy has a total of 5 such systems.
The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak also confirmed the transfer of the second SAMP/T air defense system to Ukraine on Telegram.
