Scholz changed his mind: German Chancellor made a new statement about strikes inside Russian territory

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who had previously spoken out against strikes on Russian territory with Western weapons, has now said that this will not lead to escalation and that in some cases such actions are justified.

He said this on the air of the Antenne Bayern radio station.

"As the US president said, it is only about the ability to defend a large city, such as Kharkiv," Scholz said.

The German Chancellor emphasized that the decision to allow Kyiv to use German weapons was carefully considered in cooperation with Germany's friends and allies.

At the same time, Scholz assured the citizens of his country that pressure on him to make "wrong and untimely decisions" was unacceptable.

Earlier, the Netherlands lifted restrictions on Ukraine's use of the transferred F-16 aircraft for self-defense strikes inside Russian territory.
