One more country joins Ramstein

Argentina, which has previously approved the transfer of five fighter jets to Ukraine, will also join the Ramstein format Ukraine Defense Contact Group on June 13 in Brussels.

This was announced by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

It is noted that one more country, Argentina, will join the 23rd meeting of the Ramstein format Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which was opened by Lloyd Austin in Brussels on June 13, and is welcomed as a new member of the Contact Group.

The press service of the U.S. Mission to NATO said that a total of 50 countries of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will join the meeting:

"The 50 countries of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meet to kick off the 23rd monthly meeting, chaired by U.S. Secretary of Defense Austin."

The US Secretary of Defense indicated that Argentina would also be among the representatives, increasing the number of those who support Ukraine.

"I'm pleased to welcome Argentina as a new member of the Contact Group. Minister Petri (Luis Petri, Argentina's Defense Minister - Apostrophe), I'm glad to have you with us," Lloyd Austin commented.

At the same time, the Head of the US Pentagon thanked Rustem Umerov and other allies who also came to the meeting in Brussels:

"We have a lot of work ahead of us, and fortunately, support for Ukraine is growing and not waning."

It is worth recalling that Ramstein-format meeting scheduled for June 13 in Brussels, will focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

Earlier, the US Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin announced the date of arrival in Ukraine of the first F-16 jets.
