The District Administrative court of Kyiv declared the nationalization of the Bank in December 2016 to be illegal.
This decision was made on April 18, radio “Svoboda” reports.
In turn, the National Bank of Ukraine said it would appeal the decision. Thus, the decision did not enter into legal force.
"We will continue to prove the legality of the actions and decisions of the regulator in the appellate court. Once again, we pay attention to the fact that the legal uncertainty generated by judicial decisions undermines financial stability", - the Head of Department of claim work of Legal Department of National Bank Viktor Hryhorchuk reported.
The NBU noted that it would offer the Council on financial stability to appeal to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on such judicial practices that damage the international image of Ukraine.
"International partners of Ukraine have repeatedly stressed that the nationalization of PrivatBank was an important step to ensure financial stability. The decision to withdraw the insolvent "PrivatBank" with the participation of the state was taken in accordance with the current legislation, was supported by the National Security and Defense Council and the government of Ukraine in order to ensure financial stability and preservation of citizens’ funds," the first Deputy Chairman of the NBU Kateryna Rozhkova said.
As "Apostrophe. Economy" reported earlier, the former Director of Feodosia tank farm Andrii Khymchenko sued PrivatBank for the amount of USD 5.3 million (UAH 158.9 million).
