The warships of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation tried to disrupt the naval exercises of Ukraine and the United States, Ukrainian State Border Service by reports.
During the exercises, Ukrainian and U.S. naval forces practiced coherence in international tactical groups. The training took place on Saturday, May 8, at a distance of more than 100 nautical miles from Odesa. The flagship of Maritime Guard of the State Border Service and the U.S. Coast Guard ship Hamilton participated in the exercises.
Within the framework of the exercise, the military practiced the coherence of actions in the international tactical group, elements of general maneuvering with increased complexity and reflection of an air attack.
According to State Border Service, Russian FSB ships and the warships of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet closely monitored the actions of the U.S. and Ukrainian military personnel. One of the Russian ships was obsessively circling around.
"The ships of the aggressor country sometimes announced fictitious coordinates of closed areas, demanding to leave them, then maneuvered dangerously and tried to artificially narrow the maneuver zone for Ukrainian and American ships. They did not respond to calls for communication through international maritime safety. Such a violation of international maritime law has been carefully documented by Ukrainian border guards," the Ukrainian State Border Service said, adding that the Russa's actions did not prevent the partners from practicing their maneuvers at the Black Sea.
