The father of American billionaire and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in Donald Trump's administration, Elon Musk, Errol Musk, has admitted that he admires Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
He stated this in an interview with the BBC.
“As a family, we definitely admire Mr. Putin. It would be foolish not to admire him, because he is always calm. I listen to his speeches: he says logical things. ... We all think so,” Errol Musk said in response to a journalist’s question about whether his son had told him what he thought of Putin.
When asked why Elon Musk changed his position on the war in Ukraine, his father replied that it was not a matter of business interests.
"This is not about business interests. We have everything! ... What he did when the war started was provide (Ukraine) with Starlink. And, naturally, at that moment it seemed like the right decision. But this war is not ending, but dragging on and on," he noted .
Errol Musk also stated in the context of this issue that when Elon Musk looked at the data on war financing, he called the war in Ukraine "the largest corruption machine in the history of mankind."
It is known that Elon Musk and his father had a very difficult relationship. In his memoirs, the billionaire repeatedly accused his father of being cold and constantly mentioned Errol in a negative light.
Previously, Errol Musk talked about the businessman's maternal grandparents, who were members of the Nazi party in Canada , and later moved to South Africa because they supported the apartheid regime.
