Two current employees of the Internal Affairs bodies of the Russian Federation asked for political asylum in Ukraine.
According to the state border service, the Russian enforcement officers are persecuted for their principled position on combating crime.
The citizens of Russia said that they have become victims of persecution by influential persons due to the fact that they tried to counter the spread of drugs in pharmacies. According to them, they discovered stable criminal groups which are engaged in distribution of drugs and had connections with officials of different level in enforcement structures of the Russian Federation.
Due to the order from the "top" Russian enforcementofficers decided to escape from Russia to Ukraine. Russians worry that at home they can be dealt away with.
Earlier, "Apostrophe" reported that Ukrainian journalist Olena Boiko, who spoke in support of the separatists, was deported from Russia.
