There are new details of the detention of the former President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, who surrendered to law enforcement officers during the assault on his residence on August 8.
According to the local media, Atambayev was placed in the jail of the State Committee of National Security. He's under arrest for a period up to August 26.
Photos released in the internet show that negotiations with Atambayev were conducted personally by the Head of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Also, the videos showed the moment of detention of Atambayev. The video shows him and another person being taken out of the residence by the staff of a special unit.
After the arrest of Atambayev in the center of Bishkek there have been massive frays between police and protesters.
Earlier, “Apostrophe” reported that a new President has been elected in Kyrgyzstan.
