Russian warships were sent to the Black Sea in order to conduct military exercises during which the Russian military plans to practice artillery fire as part of a control inspection. Aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation, as well as air defense of the Russian Navy, will also take part in military training.
"At the sea, the warship crew will conduct single and general shootings at surface and air targets. The role of a conditional enemy will be played by the sea target shields," the message of the informational support department of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation read.
It was also reported that the frigate Admiral Makarov, small missile ships Grivoron and Vyshnye Volochek, the hovercraft Samum, the minesweeper Ivan Golubets, as well as large landing ships will take place in the military exercises.
