Russia strikes Pokrovsk in Donetsk Region: a child is wounded, his parents are killed. Photo.

On the night of May 21, Russian troops attacked the village of Rih in the suburbs of Pokrovsk, killing two people and injuring two others. A 10-year-old child is among the victims - the boy's parents were killed.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reports on Telegram that on the night of May 21, at 11 p.m., Russian troops launched a missile attack on the territory of the village of Rih near the city of Pokrovsk. According to preliminary data, Russian troops may have used an Iskander missile.

The missile hit the yard of a private house of a local family. As a result of the enemy missile strike, two people were killed - a 52-year-old man and his 46-year-old wife sustained injuries incompatible with life.

Two more people were wounded, including a child - the couple's ten-year-old son sustained a mine-blast injury. The explosion also injured a 24-year-old resident of a neighboring house:

"The injured were taken to the hospital where they received qualified medical treatment."

In total, the Russian attack damaged 3 households and a gas pipeline.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.

The General Director of the medical institution, Yuriy Borodin, told Suspilne Donbas that the life of the 10-year-old boy who was injured by the missile strike is not in danger - he is currently in the Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital.

The Pokrovsk CMA reported that on May 22, as of 7 a.m., rescuers dismantled 30 tons of construction and unblocked 2 civilians from the rubble.

"The shelling also damaged an underground low-pressure gas pipeline. As a result, 126 private households were disconnected from gas supply. Restoration works are planned for today," the statement said.

Earlier, we reported that Kharkiv Regional Council deputy advised local residents to take their children out of the city for the summer while the escalation at the border continues.
