On the night of June 12, Russia launched a massive combined attack on Kyiv, using cruise missiles and attack UAVs.
The alarm lasted for two hours. All incoming air targets were intercepted by defence systems in the Kyiv Region.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
The Head of the KCMA, Serhiy Popko, said that the enemy used combined air means of various types for the night attack on Kyiv. Russia launched X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers and also used enemy attack UAVs.
Popko notes: "Almost simultaneously with the missiles, enemy strike UAVs were moving towards the capital from the same southern direction."
The cruise missiles approached Kyiv from the south in several waves. He adds that during the downing of the cruise missiles, the enemy, according to preliminary data, also fired ballistic missiles at the capital. In total, the air alarm lasted about two hours at night.
Air Defense Forces and means were able to eliminate all enemy air targets. There were no casualties.
"This attack has once again demonstrated that the aggressor won't give up the missile terror of Kyiv. And for the effectiveness of their strikes, the Russians will be looking for new combinations to break through our air defense," comments the Head of the KCMA.
