Ukrainian Forces has managed to stabilize the situation in the Kharkiv direction. However, due to its proximity to the border, the Russians continue to wipe Vovchansk off the map, just as they destroyed Bakhmut earlier.
Denys Yaroslavsky, the commander of the intelligence unit of the AFU, told Apostrophe TV about this.
According to him, the same thing is happening there as it was in Bakhmut, only in a more rapid mode.
"Kharkiv suffers less from Russian KAB attacks, primarily because our partners allowed us to strike at Russian territory in operational depth. We are waiting to receive F-16s, but it is important to understand that this is not a panacea. The defense system will be effective only if it is combined, including Western air defense systems," he explained.
At the same time, it is now more important for Ukraine to be able to strike into the operational depth of the enemy's rear - about 150 km from the border.
"At this distance, the Russians have airfields from which their aircraft take off to strike at the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilians. It is important that we have the opportunity to strike them before the aircraft take off," Denys Yaroslavsky summarized.
Earlier, Apostrophe reported that Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv.
