How many missiles and Shahed drones were shot down during the night attack: Ukrainian Air Force

On June 12, Russia launched missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, using combined means of destruction. Explosions were heard not only in Kyiv Region but also in five other regions. Air Defense Forces managed to destroy 29 enemy targets.

This was reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk on his Telegram channel.

In general, Russia used both air- and ground-launched missiles and attack UAVs for the night strike on Ukraine. The total number of air strike weapons was 30, including:

  • 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft - launched from Saratov Region;
  • 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile - launched from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile - launched from the airspace of Tambov Region;
  • 24 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs were launched from the areas of Yeysk and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.

Oleshchuk notes: "Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the enemy's air attack."

The anti-aircraft battle took place in 6 regions of Ukraine:

  • Kyiv,
  • Dnipropetrovs'k,
  • Zaporizhzhia,
  • Poltava,
  • Kharkiv,
  • Vinnytsia.

Air Defense Forces and means managed to destroy a total of 29 air targets, including 5 Russian missiles and 24 attack drones:

  • 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile
  • 4 Kh-101 / Kh-555 cruise missiles;
  • 24 Shahed-131/136 type attack UAVs.
