Russian occupiers are being forced to move their troops from Donetsk Region to the Kharkiv direction because of attacks by Ukrainian soldiers in northeastern Ukraine. At the same time, the enemy is also advancing in the derection of Siversk, Chasiv Yar and near Avdiivka.

This was reported by Apostrophe, citing a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Kharkiv Region

Russian invaders and the Ukrainian military continued to fight in the north and northeast of Kharkiv City on June 16 and 17.

On June 16, Russian sources published geolocated footage allegedly showing Russian troops repelling a Ukrainian counterattack in the northwestern part of Hlyboke.

Russian milbloggers claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched mechanized counterattacks near Hlyboke and were advancing from the direction of Tykhe, as well as near the Aggregate Plant near Vovchansk.

The Russian occupiers continued to advance in the area of Lyptsi, near Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory. According to a Russian milblogger, Russian troops allegedly advanced 300 meters in the direction of Vovchansk.

On June 17, Colonel Yuriy Povkh, Spokesperson for the Kharkiv Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that the occupiers had redeployed units of the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade (Pacific Fleet) and the 18th Motorized Rifle Division (11th Army Corps (AC), Leningrad Military District (LMD) to the Lyptsi direction to replace units that had lost their combat capability.

In addition, a Russian source recently stated that units of the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade were operating near Vovchansk.
