"One daughter and father died, and the wife is in the hospital": what is known about the attack on Zaporizhia

Three people were killed and twelve were injured in the massive shelling of Zaporizhia by Russian forces on the evening of March 21. Among the dead were a man and one of his daughters.

This is reported by "Social".

Food establishments, educational institutions, infrastructure, as well as private and apartment buildings were damaged.

" The windows flew out, I started shaking, and then I moved away a little and started cleaning. I have glass between my rooms and it flew out and I understand that I need to collect the glass so as not to walk on the glass - it's dangerous. The door was knocked out and the dog immediately ran into the house and peed on it, it was scared.

"I knew the neighbors who died. For us, they are a young couple, young children. The little ones are 14 years old, aren't they big?! It's a real shame. They have two daughters. One died and the father died, and the wife is in the hospital. And the eldest daughter was not at home, she is fine. They were private entrepreneurs ," said one of the victims, local resident Lyudmila Naidyonova.

Another neighbor of the deceased, Hanna Tyshchenko, said that first the rescuers pulled out the mother: " She was still alive. She had severe head burns. Then they pulled out the daughter, who was also still alive. The mother was sent to the hospital, and the doctors resuscitated the daughter, but they couldn't. And then they pulled out the father - dead. A good family, the mother was a hard worker. She sold vegetables at a kiosk, the husband did something with computers. And the girls were studying. One was 14-15 years old, the other was 17-20 ."

A local kindergarten was also shelled.

" I was in kindergarten at night. I was sitting in the medical office. Then I saw that the alarm went into the toilet two walls away and it went off really hard — 4-5 times. I look, everything is on fire, wires are hanging, 2 offices are on fire. I ran out and called the firefighters, called the director. I was very nervous, I was in shock, I did everything running. It was very loud, I've never had anything like this before. Nothing is intact. All the windows are broken, the first floor was on fire, heating water was pouring in the music hall ," said kindergarten security guard Iryna Tkachenko.

As Apostrophe reported, on January 23, the Russians inflicted the most devastating blow on Zaporizhia since the start of the full-scale invasion.
