On Wednesday, March 2, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has updated its Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List.
According to the statement published by the U.S. Treasury, several Russian entities and individuals involved in the poisoning of the Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny were added to the list.
Bortnikov Aleksandr, the head of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, Kalashnikov Alexandr, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Krasnov Igor, Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Pavel Popov, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexey Krivoruchko, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and Andrei Yarin, the Head of the Kremlin Department of Internal Policy are subject to the U.S. sanctions.
The 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the 33rd Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology (GosNIIOKhT) were also added to the SDN List.
