Russia has set a new record for the number of COVID-19 cases per day. According to the official information, it's the first time that the number of infections per day has exceeded 34 thousand, as was reported by the Russian service "Interfax".
With this, on October 16, the Russian Federation recorded 34 303 cases of the coronavirus. The highest number of cases was recorded in Moscow (6,740 people), in St. Petersburg (3,323), and in the Moscow region (2,759).
At the same time, 997 people died of COVID-19, and 18,717 recovered.
A total of 7,992,687 cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia during the pandemic. 223,312 died, and 7,000,624 Russians recovered.
