Russian Telegram channels reported the explosions in Engels and Saratov. Locals counted more than 30 explosions. Saratov airport even suspended operations. The restrictions were lifted an hour and a half later.
The governor of the Saratov region said that all the UAVs had been "liquidated." He also reported that there was no destruction of "civilian" facilities.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that it had allegedly shot down 19 UAVs in the Saratov region. Russian air defenses were also operating in other regions of the Russian Federation. In total, they reported that 78 drones had been shot down.
We remind you that Engels is home to a military airfield from which the Russian Federation regularly attacks Ukraine with missiles. The Sokol military airfield is also located in Saratov.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, wrote about this:
"Engels, where the enemy continues to store missiles and ammunition for attacks on Ukraine, encountered unknown drones."
It is also worth mentioning the recent strike on the Engels-2 airfield of the Aerospace Forces, which was carried out on the night of March 20. Then the enemy lost 96 cruise missiles .
