Iranian journalists published a video capturing the attack on two US military bases in Iraq.
"The video shows Iran launching missiles to strike American military bases as retaliation for the death of General Soleimani," the Press TV video description reads.
In the right corner, one can also see a phrase written in Farsi, which translates as "brutal revenge" to English.
Iran struck Al-Asad airbase in Iraq’s Anbar province 17 times, with further five missiles targeted at a base in the northern city of Erbil.
Both Iran's Miniter of Foreign Affairs Javad Zarif and President Donald Trump have indicated they don't wish to escalate the tensions.
"Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched. We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression," Zarif posted on his Twitter account.
