This is how we lived without the Internet: interesting 1960s photos of Kyiv

Photos of the "Internet" fom the 1960s were released online. Information booths in Kyiv helped to find the address or phone number of a certain person by his or her last name.

The photos were published by Kyiv historical resources.

It is reported that there were a total of 34 information booths in different districts of Kyiv. They were used by those who needed to know the address of friends, colleagues, institutions or enterprises.

Information booths also performed more complicated tasks: how to find a person living in another city. It was enough to give her surname, first name and patronymic, and in two weeks you could get the corresponding information.

In the absence of the Internet and call-centers, such information booths were a kind of encyclopedia of the big city.
