Ukraine's Parliament appoints Ihor Petrashko as the Minister of Economic Development

On March 17, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada appointed Ihor Petrashko as the new Minister of Economy. 243 MPs supported his candidacy.

Petrashko's candidacy was previously approved by the according committee and was recommended to support in the Rada.

Petrashko is an economist with over 20 years of experience. He graduated from the Lviv Polytechnic National University and has a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Since 1996, Petrashko has been an employee of various American, Russian and Ukrainian companies, which provided consulting and investment services.

In 2001, he graduated from the Business School of Vanderbilt University in the USA.

In 2004-2007, Ihor Petrashko worked in Moscow, later in Kyiv representative office of Ernst&Young company; he also worked in the investment company TriykaDialogUkraine. Until 2013, he headed the corporate business department at Sberbank of Russia.

In recent years, Petrashko worked as an economist at the agricultural holding "Ukrlandfarming" of oligarch Oleg Bakhmatyuk.

As Apostrophe reported, during the meeting on March 17, Rada appointed a new prosecutor-general.
