The Rada introduced martial law in Ukraine

On the morning of February 24, the Verkhovna Rada imposed martial law in Ukraine. This decision was supported by 300 people's deputies.

This is reported by the Telegram channel Iron People's Deputy.

The constitutional majority of deputies supported the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine regarding martial law.

"Each position has its own duty. I am proud that today at 7:40 a.m. the constitutional majority of deputies has gathered to fulfill their minimal duty. To support the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose martial law," the message of People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reads.

Earlier, the intention to impose martial law throughout the country was mentioned in the address of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the legislation, martial law is a special legal regime that is introduced in Ukraine or in its particular areas in the event of armed aggression or threat of attack, the danger of state independence of Ukraine, its territorial integrity and provides for the provision to the relevant state bodies of the powers necessary to challenge the threat, repel armed aggression and ensure national security.

As reported, on February 24, during a video message on Russian television, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a military operation in the Donbas.
