"If you have idiots and swindlers like Zelensky, it's a lost cause": Spartz clarified after scandalous statement about Ukraine

Виктория Спартц

Republican U.S. House of Representatives member Victoria Spartz has issued a statement following the scandal surrounding her interview with the British newspaper The Telegraph.

This is reported by "Apostrophe" with reference to the Spartac website .

The congresswoman, in particular, was accused of Telegraph in twisting her words.

In particular, according to a report on the Spartz website, she did not say that Ukraine should give its lands to Russia.

At the same time, Spartz accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team of using this distorted "quote" by Spartz for "propaganda purposes."

The message also contains direct language from Spartz, where she, in particular, calls Zelenskyy and his team idiots and fraudsters.

" I have spent a tremendous amount of energy trying to help the Ukrainian military win their brutal fight against Russia. Unfortunately, when you have idiots and crooks like Zelensky and his puppet parliament running your country, it's a lost cause. Putin may be evil, but he's not an idiot ," Spartac's statement said.

She adds that Ukraine cannot currently return its territories that are under Russian occupation, but it cannot give up these territories either.

" The current reality on the ground is that Ukraine is unable to return its territories, and they cannot agree to give them up forever. Therefore, only a temporary solution can be achieved with the help of the United States, which will give each side some time to regroup. The final outcome of this war will be decided later, not just on the battlefield ," Spartz said.

As Apostrophe reported, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted harshly to Spartz's interview with the British newspaper Telegraph.

Oleksandr Merezhko, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's Committee on Foreign Policy, told "Apostrophe" what he sees as the greatest danger in connection with Spartz's scandalous statements.
