On Tuesday, December 22, Ukrainian entrepreneurs gathered for another SaveFOP rally in Kyiv. They continue to protest against the introduction of cash registers. Photos and videos from the venue of the action were published in the PavlovskyNEWS Telegram channel.
The first entrepreneur's protest took place on December 15. The people gathered in Kyiv, next to the Ukrainian Parliament building in order to protest against both pandemic lockdown and introduction of cash registers. The participants of the rally set up tents, which were quickly removed by the law enforcement officials. The protesters were dispersed with the use of tear gas. As a result of the dispersal with tear gas, a man was hospitalized; a few people feel burn in their eyes. Besides, the law enforcers applied stun grenades against the protesters to get to tents. The organizers of the meeting stated that there are many traumatized among the protesters. However, their number is not specified.
Since December 15, the entrepreneurs have been gathering for the protests from time to time on the Independence Square, Kyiv. The law enforcement officer is taking daily shifts there. Today the situation is more peaceful. This time, protesters did not block the streets in the capital, but police and security services tightened the security protection near the government buildings.
During the rally, protest leaders called on their allies to seek normal working conditions for small businesses and enterprises. Otherwise, they would threaten with the worst-case scenario for the government involving the right-wing radical forces. However, the situation at the protests is still quite calm.
Meanwhile, the Office of the President and the Verkhovna Rada are heavily guarded. In particular, the entrance to Bankova was blocked with several KrAZ cars, and a large number of security officers were put on duty nearby. The parliament building is also surrounded by law enforcement officials.
As was reported by “Apostrophe’, earlier the protesters demanding the abolition of cash registers for sole proprietors have claimed that they will take to the streets until President Volodymyr Zelenskyi listens to them.
