Ukraine has officially banned the use of Russian vaccine against COVID-19

On Wednesday, February 10, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decree on the state registration of the vaccines. The document has banned the use of the vaccines produced by a state recognized by the state of Ukraine as ‘aggressor’.

The corresponding decree was published on Wednesday, February 10, on the official page of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The decree regulates "the procedure for the state registration of vaccines or other medical immunobiological drugs for the specific prevention of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, under an obligation for emergency medical use".

The document, in particular, prohibits the registration of vaccines or other drugs which were developed or produced in a state recognized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as an aggressor state. Thus, the official use of Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" will be banned in Ukraine.

According to "Apostrophe", during the opening of the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30 Coronavirus: Challenges and Answers", President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine has agreed on the supply of vaccines against COVID-19 produced by Pfizer, Sinovac, AstraZeneca and Novavax.
