The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the bill, which introduces the mandatory provision of biometric data for obtaining a Ukrainian visa.
The corresponding bill No. 3630 was published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada in Ukraine. In the first reading, the bill was supported by a total of 320 deputies.
According to the draft- law, it will be mandatory for foreigners and stateless persons to submit their biometric data when applying for a Ukrainian visa, unless otherwise is provided by the legislation or ratified international treaties in Ukraine.
As was indicated in the explanatory note, the adoption of the draft-law will simplify the procedure for identifying the foreigners and stateless persons during or after their entry into the territory of Ukraine and improve the control of the state bodies over the migration flows.
