AstraZeneca has given its coronavirus vaccine a new name — Vaxzevria

The Swedish-British company AstraZeneca has changed the name of its coronavirus vaccine to Vaxzevria. This wasannounced by the European Medical Agency (EMA), Ukrinform reports.

The manufacturer stated that changing the name of the vaccine will not change any of the drug characteristics. The only difference is the labeling and packaging of medicine. At the same time, the reasons for the renaming of the vaccine has not been specified.

Thepackaging, labeling and appearance of the producthave also changed alongwith thename. The European Medical Agency accepted the name change after the company filed a corresponding appeal.

It's worth noting that after a number of European countries suspended the use of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine, WHO made an important statement and confirmed that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine use outweigh the risks.
