Ukraine has recorded an increase in the number of coronavirus cases. In this regard, Ukraine's Ministry of Health proposed to introduce stricter rules and restrictions for citizens who are not vaccinated, as was reported by the President's Office of Ukraine.
With this, according to Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko, the number of infected citizens began to increase for the first time in a few months.
"In particular, 3,460 new cases of infection were recorded last week, which is 253 cases more than during the previous period," Lyashko said.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health recommended the introduction of additional restrictions for people entering the territory of Ukraine from abroad.
At the same time, the Ministry highlighted that new restrictions shall be imposed due to the rising number of cases in other countries as well as Ukraine. The spreading of the new Delta strain became another reason to introduce stricter restrictions.
According to Viktor Lyashko, people who are not yet fully vaccinated are obliged to self-isolate for 14 days. This period of self-isolation may be decreased to 7 if a person receives a negative PCR test within the first 7 days.
At the same time, children and those who traveled abroad before the decree was adopted will be exempted from obligatory self-isolation.
