A year ago, on July 27, 2020, the agreement on full and comprehensive ceasefire in Donbas came into force. This was reported by the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group in its Telegram channel.
One year ago, the Trilateral Contact Group signed a document to provide a complete and comprehensive ceasefire in eastern Ukraine. It is considered the most effective ceasefire since the outbreak of hostilities. The number of shelling and casualties has decreased significantly. However, Russia keeps violating all the agreements.
The Ukrainian side of the TCG noted that even though Russian occupiers continued to violate the ceasefire, there are clear results: two times fewer deaths on the Ukrainian side, three times fewer wounded, almost three times fewer shellings compared to the period from July 2019 to July 2020.
Thus, during the period of time from July 27, 2019, till July 26, 2020, military formations of the Russian Federation have carried out 4,257 shellings, 88 Ukrainian servicemen were killed and 494 were injured.
During the ceasefire from July 27, 2020 till July 24, 2021, 1,995 shellings were recorded, 45 Ukrainians were killed and 154 soldiers were injured.
