What Ukraine has to do "to the maximum" on the front: forecast for 2024

Experts said that Ukraine needs to develop it's military-industrial complex in the rear next year to win the war.

This was told by a former company commander of the Aidar Battalion, the head of the National Antarctic Scientific Center Eugene Dikiy on the air of Apostrophe TV.

He noted that American press writes that Ukraine will be able to counterattack again in the spring 2025. However, according to him, the prognosis is a bit strange, because Russia is the one who has plans for 2025, and it is important for them to keep holding out for another year and a half.

"Remember the old Western prognoses at the beginning of 2022 that "we won't survive three days." Now, despite the difficult situation, the Russian commanders are sincerely proud that their "second army of the world" was able to hold back the offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. It sounds strange, but for them this is a reason for sincere pride and for reporting on "achievements". And this is despite the fact that they had the largest mobilization since World War II. Even Afghanistan and Chechnya didn't recruit so many soldiers," he emphasized.

The military officer noted that Russians have a maximum plan for 2024 - to try to occupy the entire territory of Donetsk Region. The minimum plan is to hold the front line as it is now and then wait for Donald Trump to win the US presidential election.

The Russians' dream is that Ukraine will be left without funding until 2025, which, as the Kremlin believes, will allow to finally "finish". It is Russians who have big plans for 2025, not us, as the Western press says, he explains.

"For us, however, it is 2024 that could be the chance. It's just that we constantly fall into extremes. They say that if we don't drink coffee in Crimea now, then "everything is lost." No, nothing is lost. The occupants have very serious problems. Again, they are bursting with pride that they were able to hold out under our attacks, although according to their logic their "strong and invincible" should have been in Kiev long ago. Therefore, we need to make the most of 2024: to develop our military-industrial complex in the rear, so that until 2025 we don't care much about who will be elected there in 2025. And on the front, we need to push the enemy as much as possible and kick them out in those directions where there is an opportunity to do so," - added Eugene Dikiy.

We shall remind you that Former Deputy Chief of the AFU General Staff, Lieutenant-General Ihor Romanenko explained why the counter-offensive went wrong and what Ukraine should do.
