Two defense lines and positions are being built in the most dangerous areas in Chernihiv region.
This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
According to AFU, several dozens of anti-tank minefields and barriers have been set up over the past week. About 5 thousand meters of trenches and 3.5 thousand meters of anti-tank ditches were dug along the state border. There have been equipped several dozen firing positions for personnel, shelters and covered slits, as well as firing positions for equipment.
Lieutenant-General Serhii Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the enemy currently has no offensive capabilities in Chernihiv region, but things may change in the future.
"We are preparing for resistance and together with Chernihiv Regional Military Administration we are taking measures to strengthen our defense. If the threat grows, additional forces will arrive at the prepared lines, and we will be ready to respond appropriately to any developments of the situation," he said.
