Putin's legitimacy may be shaken: Russian journalist on the results of the 2024 "elections"

In mid-March 2024, there will be presidential "elections" in Russia, in which Putin may again be recognized as the "winner." The election system in Russia is designed in such a way that it can be falsified as it is convenient for the authorities.

Russian journalist Timur Olevsky told Apostrophe TV about this.

The election system in Russia is designed in such a way that any numbers can be drawn. In 2018, Putin received 63%, and now he will want to get more.

"Now in Russia, people who came to Navalny's grave are being caught one by one. For now, administrative protocols are drawn up on them, which may later turn into criminal proceedings. Even portraits of Navalny are considered extremist symbols," Olevsky said.

According to him, Putin may have problems with legitimacy, as a number of countries may not recognize their results.

"The most anti-war people today are those who are at war. However, there are many people who support the war and make money from it," the journalist noted.

Earlier, UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps from the center of Kyiv has called on the world to support Ukraine in the war against the aggressor.
