Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espen Barth Eide said that the "coalition" will deliver to Ukraine a significant number of F-16 fighters with the latest weapons that can be used far beyond the front line.

"I am convinced that Ukraine must also strengthen its strike capabilities, strike behind the front line. And this is one of the reasons why we are very pleased to join the F-16 coalition, where we will transfer updated Norwegian F-16s, which are in good condition," the Minister said.
According to him, Norway, along with its Danish and Dutch colleagues, is also training Ukrainian pilots. Eide said that he has experience in defense and knows that the F-16 is a very powerful platform and everything depends on how it is equipped.
"Of course, it is a very advanced technological platform, but the main thing is also the weapon system that can be mounted on the platform. So, in general, as a system, it will be a significant contribution. Therefore, aircraft that will be operational will be equipped with the latest weapons," the Minister added.
Earlier, we wrote that 12 Ukrainian pilots will be ready to fly F-16s in the summer of 2024 after training in Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
