Russians have deployed four Chechen battalions on the border with Sumy Region, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fully prepared to "meet" the enemy.
Volodymyr Bitsak, the Commander of the 3rd Company of the 8th VFTC and Deputy Chairman of the Sumy District Council, told Kyiv24.
He emphasized that according to preliminary information, four battalions of Kadyrov's men arrived at a distance of 150-200 km from Sumy Region.
"I will reassure the residents of Sumy that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are on the spot, volunteer groups are on the spot, trained, waiting for these 'sh*theads' We know from the previous two years of war that they only know how to fight with phones. I think their goal will be to show off. Drive up to the border somewhere, take a photo. At the most, they will take part in a reconnaissance operation," he emphasized.
It should be noted that the border of Sumy Region is regularly shelled by Russian troops. In particular, in July 2023, an evacuation from the 5-kilometer border zone with Russia was announced in Sumy Region due to the increase in artillery shelling.
In February 2024, Sumy Region introduced a ban on car traffic on road sections in the border area. This restriction applied to the 5-kilometer zone from the border.
