No electricity, no water, no food: how do Ukrainians survive in occupied Kakhovka

The situation in Kakhovka and the entire left-bank territory, adjacent to the Kakhovka reservoir, is currently very difficult. There are problems with electricity, water, gas and mobile communication.

Oleh Baturyn, a journalist of the Centre for Investigative Journalism, spoke about this on the air of Apostrophe TV.

According to him, due to the fact that the occupiers are constantly shelling infrastructure facilities, there is often no electricity in the city. It is supplied according to a schedule, sometimes there is no electricity in the city and neighboring settlements for weeks.

"There are huge problems with water supply, gas supply, huge interruptions in communication - that is, people can't connect with others, even when they need to see doctors, and when the occupation administration holds any events, people cannot read about it," the journalist says.

According to Baturyn, local entrepreneurs have already warned representatives of the occupation administration that if they do not resolve the issue of electricity supply, they will be forced to shut down their activities, and only a few will sell products.
