On the night of June 6, Russia attacked Ukraine with both missiles and drones. Air defense forces managed to destroy 17 UAVs.
This was reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
He notes that on the night of June 6, the enemy used two ballistic missiles against Ukraine:
- two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, launched from the Taganrog area (Russia) - the strike was carried out on the Dnipro Region;
- 18 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs were launched from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).
"The enemy's air attack was repelled by mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops, fighter aircraft and electronic warfare units of the Air Force," emphasized Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Force.
As a result of the air battle, 17 attack UAVs were destroyed in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.
